Vivek Oberoi’s PM Narendra Modi Release Preponed To April 5- A Week Before Lok Sabha Elections!
Vivek Oberoi’s upcoming film on PM Modi is already embroiled in a controversy as it’s being accused of being a propaganda film for BJP and now, the makers have shifted the release date to April 5 from April 12- further calling for trouble, as it will now hit theatres not during but just a week before the polling beings in seven phases
Vivek Oberoi’s film, PM Narendra Modi’s release date has been revised to April 5 from April 12. This updates comes at a time when the film is already fighting an accusation of being a propaganda film for BJP. Recently, the National Students’ Union Of India, Goa, the Congress party’s wing had urged the Election Commission to ban the release of the Vivek Oberoi starrer, alleging that it’s an attempt to influence voters before the Lok Sabha elections. However, producer Sandip Ssingh has denied these allegations.
But with the latest shift in the release date, which is now a week before the elections being, the makers have invited further questions. While former Election Commissioner, on the condition of anonymity has indirectly told Mid-day that the film’s release coinciding with elections is an indirect violation of the model code of conduct, Sandip Ssingh has replied to the allegations and said, “"The movie is not funded by BJP or any other party, so it's not a propaganda film. We live in a democracy, so we reserve the right to decide our film's release date. Also, when I made Mary Kom, I got sports personalities to endorse it. Since we are making a film on the sitting PM, we are requesting people who admire him to come as chief guests."

Meanwhile, Ssingh has also spoken about the change in release date and said, "We are bringing this film a week early on public demand. There is a lot of love and anticipation among the people and we don't want them to wait longer. This is a story of 1.3 billion people and I can't wait to show it to them."

The film also stars Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, Zarina Wahab, Barkha Sengupta, Anjan Shrivastav, Yatin Karyekar, Ramakant Dayma, Akshat R Saluja,Jimesh Patel and Darshan Kumaar in important roles.
